Steves' tour. After much discussion about seeing Europe we finally decided to do something about it during the winter
of 2007 and so the birth of planning our vacation began. Careful and thorough research into various tours with different
companies, led us to a Rick Steves' tour web site. The intrigue - and his "through the back door" motto sounded
like the perfect way to see Europe. We wanted to experience the culture of the people and places, and how they lived.
His tour groups are made up of no more than 28 people which sounded more intimate and a better way to travel as a tour group.
We also liked the idea of having some free time to explore on our own but with the help of a tour guide to give us tips on how
to get where we needed to go.
Karen & Steve's 14-Day European Adventure

Every place we stayed in, on our journey across Europe was different and unique. From bed and breakfast-type
lodgings and family-owned farm house inns, to big-city hotels, every room was different in layout and view. In
the French countryside we had a view of a quaint courtyard whereas in Tuscany we had views of olive groves
and grape vines, and in Paris and Rome we had a view of busy streets and cars. In Austria, our views changed
to rolling hills of greenery, and in Switzerland, where our room had a balcony, the view over-looked the mountains, waterfalls
and colorful flowers and was just idyllic. Since we were just a small group of 28 our guide, Dave, made every effort to
give each of us the opportunity to enjoy the best that each place had to offer.

This was the best vacation of our life! A big thanks to Rick Steves’ tour company, our tour guide Dave and to all of our tour
buddies for making this trip an incredible experience for us. This tour was so much more than we expected. Our appetite
for another adventurous Rick Steves' tour has us on a quest to decide where we'd like to go next!
