Continuing on our planned route we left Gimmelwald and traveled further down the mountains to the bottom of Lauterbrunnen
Valley to the place where we started. Once down the steep incline the plan was to catch a bus to Trummelbach
Falls before continuing back to the Hotel Oberland.
Lauterbrunnen Valley - Part 2
Being up high is one thing, but taking a gondola ride down a steep incline like this is something else - Just ask Rachel.
The falls turned out to be so much more than any of us expected. Once we entered the park we climbed up a set of steep steps
taking us up alongside the gorge that had been carved out by these powerful falls. We reached what we thought was the top of
the falls only to find out that we needed to take a cog-train up a steep incline to get higher. From there, we climbed
even more steps to continue through these wonderous caverns.
The water comes from the Alpine glaciers and the sights and sounds are incredible. Knowing that pictures would never do
it justice we did the best we could to capture this spectacular sight.
As we approached the bottom of the falls we could see our little town in the distance that we would call home only one final
night.
What better way to end a perfect day than to jot down these wonderful experiences in a journal with a local beer at hand.
Gute Nacht...
